Advantech Computer will not connect to the Internet

Check all the network requirements. Then follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Check the Ardexa Device is turned on Check if the LED power light turned on. See the red circle in Figure 1 below. If the LED is NOT on, please check the power supply. If the light is ORANGE, please press the power button (small white button on the left) to turn the machine on.

Step 2 – Check the Network Card lights Check if the network card lights are on, flashing or off. These are the green and blue ovals in Figure 1 above. Write down: a. Whether the green circle LED (in Figure 1) is on, flashing or off, and the color of the light.

b. The same for the blue circle LED in Figure 1.

Step 3 – Try and 'ping' the machine Generally, Ardexa Devices are configured for 'dynamic' addressing (DHCP), so the router will allocate it an address that lasts for anywhere between 1 day and 1 month (usually). To get the current address, query the router. Most routers will list all connected devices, and sometimes include the 'host-name'. The host-name for all Ardexa Devices is 'ardexa'.

If your Ardexa Device has a static address, simply use that address.

Once you have the IP address, try to ping the device using a machine on the same network segment.

Step 3 – Check the connection to the Internet

From another machine on the same network segment, check that there is a working connection to the internet.
