Connecting SolarLog

Connecting to SolarLog

PLEASE OBSERVE ALL MANUFACTURER SAFETY AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Ensure you have read a copy of the manufacturer operating and safety manual. The latest copy may be obtained from the manufacturer website SolarLog Document Library

SolarLog Hardware Configuration

2. If the SolarLog is already on an Ethernet network, then connect the SolarLog to the inverters as per the SolarLog instructions, and a normal Ethernet cable to the network. If there is no Ethernet network, then connect the SolarLog to the local device via an Ethernet crossover cable.

3. Remove the 3/4G SIM Card from the Solar Log device. Additionally, unscrew and remove the antenna (in case there is Internet available on the Ethernet network).

SolarLog Software Configuration

4. On the SolarLog device, if the SolarLog and local device are on an Ethernet network, then set a unique but STATIC address for the SolarLog. In other words, the IP Address of the SolarLog must not change. If the SolarLog is connected via an Ethernet crossover cable to Ardexa (ie; there is not Ethernet network), then set an address of 192.168.38.2 with a Net-mask of 255.255.255.0 on the SolarLog device. The “Gateway” does not need to be set.

NOTE: Do not set an address of 192.168.1.X on the Solar Log. This address range is used by most routers and modems, and it will conflict with the DHCP addresses issued by them. Address of the Solar Log MUST BE 192.168.38.2

5. If Ardexa is completing your plugin configuration, please don't forget to send:

a. Clear photographs of both ends of the RS485 cable termination (to the first inverter)

c. The number and models of connected inverters

d. The unique RS485 or IP addresses of the inverters

e. The name of the site.
