Web Scraping

In cases where the machine data is only available on a local web portal, the data can be retrieved by a process called web scraping. This method involves accessing this web portal (which often requires credentials) and capturing the data from the web page. Due to the complexity and unreliability of this type of connection, it is not recommended, however it may be supported if no other communication protocols are available.
